Health Department To Spray For Mosquitoes

July 18th, 2006

Between 7:30 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, Bucks County Health Department officials will spray for mosquitoes in the sector of Bristol Township bordering Neshaminy State Park, State Rd. and Cedar Ave.

According to the Health Department, the application will involve less one ounce of pesticide per acre, which will have no effect on pets or pools. Residents should expect to see county trucks performing the service. To avoid directly inhaling the pesticide, they are advised to close all windows from 7:30-9 p.m.

The targeted area includes Cedar Ave., 1st Ave. through 6 th Ave., Minot Ave. and Central Dr.

In response to the late June flood, other areas of the county may be sprayed at a later date. Residents will be advised if that need arises.
