Bucks County Commissioners Congratulate CIO on Appointment to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology Local Advisory Council
February 6th, 2007
The Bucks County Commissioners announced today that Donald Jacobs, chief information officer for the County of Bucks, has been added to the Local Advisory Council of the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT). He joins fellow county employees and MBIT advisors Richard Brahler of the Planning Commission, who is on the Transportation Committee and Harry McCann, director of the Public Safety Training Center, who serves as chair for both the Local Advisory Council and Public Safety Occupational Advisory Council.
“This appointment continues the tradition of employee commitment to our community,” noted Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin. “I know students will reap the rewards of Don’s expertise, as they have from other Bucks council members.”
The Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, located in Warwick Township, operates as a school designed for students seeking to enhance their educational program with decidedly pertinent business and industry experiences. There are over 400 business and industry advisors which annually review and update the school’s educational programs.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and the students of MBIT. It is of utmost importance that students today learn the technical skills for tomorrow,” said Jacobs. “These professionals-in-training are everyone’s future.”
MBIT’s Local Advisory Council meets four times a year and consists of 15 to 25 representatives from business, industry, government, education, colleges and universities, community-based organizations and trade-professional organizations. Members are approved for one-year terms and advise the school on matters such as changes to program offerings and services, labor market trends and post-secondary connections.
