Bucks County Health Department to Spray for Adult Mosquitoes in Bristol Twp. on Evening of August 23

August 23rd, 2007

As a public-safety measure of its environmental treatment program, the Bucks County Health Department advises residents of Bristol Twp. that department representatives will be applying adult mosquito spray between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, weather permitting. The application is intended to reduce the number of mosquitoes in the area, insects that could carry the West Nile Virus.

The area to be addressed includes Woodside Ave., Airport Rd., Hartell Ave. and Hartell St., Harford St. and Manning Blvd.

According to the Health Department, the application will involve less than one ounce of pesticide per acre, which will have no effect on pets or pools. Residents should expect to see county trucks performing the service. To avoid directly inhaling the pesticide, they are advised to close all windows from 7:00-8:30 p.m
