Bucks County Blog exists to give Bucks County residents fast, accurate, useful local news. These are the standards every story on this site is held to.
Accuracy and Sourcing
We report from named, checkable sources: public records, government feeds and press releases, police reports, meeting agendas, court filings, and the reporting of other outlets, which we always credit and link. Most of our stories carry a Sources section listing exactly where the information came from, so you can check our work.
Unverified Information
Bucks County runs on word of mouth, and sometimes community chatter surfaces real stories before any official source does. When we report on something that has not been officially confirmed, we say so plainly and label it as unverified, we describe what people are saying and what would need to be confirmed, and we never present rumor as fact. We do not publish rumors that accuse private individuals of wrongdoing, and we do not report on minors.
Crime and Courts
Charges are allegations, not convictions. We report arrests and charges as what police and prosecutors say, and people named in crime stories are presumed innocent unless convicted.
Technology and AI
We are a modern newsroom. We use automation and AI tools, under human editorial direction and accountability, to monitor public records and feeds around the clock, and to research and draft stories. Our standards apply to every story regardless of how it was produced, and the publisher is personally accountable for everything we run.
Independence
Bucks County Blog is independently owned. We do not accept payment for news coverage. If content is ever sponsored, it will be clearly labeled.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it. Email corrections@buckscountyblog.com with the story link and what you believe is inaccurate. We review every corrections request. Factual errors are corrected in the story promptly, and significant corrections are noted in the story itself so readers can see what changed.
Tips
Know something happening in your town? We want to hear it: hello@buckscountyblog.com or our story submission page. We protect our sources.
